Community Sports & Therapy Center is proud to announce that Physical Therapist Alaric Keller has recently become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist.

Alaric earned this specialization while working full-time at our Celina location. When asked why he chose to work for this specialization, Alaric answered, “the orthopedic specialization and the process to earn it helped me learn as much as I could about the most up-to-date research and skills to work with those with musculoskeletal impairments as well as I can.”

Alaric believes the most rewarding part of treating patients is “seeing patients surprise themselves when they’re given the tools and know-how to manage their condition effectively and reach their goals independently.” Working with patients who have musculoskeletal impairments is rewarding to him because “each individual patient comes to us with unique impairments, concerns, abilities, and goals, and finding a treatment plan that ultimately works for them is challenging, though exciting,” he added.

Alaric Keller, PT, DPT, OCS joined Community Sports and Therapy Center in 2021 as a Physical Therapist. He graduated with a Bachelors in Exercise Science from University of Cincinnati in 2017 and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Mount St. Joseph University in 2020. He completed a post-doctoral orthopedic residency at the Cleveland VA in 2021 prior to joining Community Sports and Therapy Center.

He is certified in dry needling and running rehabilitation. Alaric has primarily worked with outpatient orthopedics and inpatients in the acute care settings. He also has experience working with chronic pain, musculoskeletal dysfunction, balance and mobility impairments, and neuro conditions. Alaric is trained in manual therapy techniques, including mobilization, spinal/extremity manipulations, blood flow restriction, dry needling, cupping therapy and more.

Karen Heckman, Director of Operations, added “Alaric, congratulations on passing your Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification. Your desire to learn and expand your clinical skills and knowledge is a great asset to our patients. Your dedication to the field of physical therapy is exceptional and all your hard work in preparation for the exam has paid off!  Job well done!” Executive Director Bob Hibner also congratulated Alaric on this OCS certification which acknowledges advanced academic and clinical training in the management of orthopedic conditions. “Nationally less than six percent of Physical Therapists have this advanced training and we are pleased to have Alaric on our rehab team!!”

From our entire team, congratulations to Alaric for his commitment to furthering his education and credibility!
